Something Different ...

Good morning all, hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine we have today, looks like it might be a great weekend. I hope so as it is my nephew's 18th birthday tomorrow, I cannot believe he is 18 already it only seems like yesterday when he was 8 ! My sister in law is having a party for him at the house and she has gone to sooooo much trouble, it is a beach theme and she has bought blow up palm trees and all sorts and she is doing a sandpit for the kids to play in - there are 50 people coming - she is much braver than me having that many round her house but it should be fab, I have bought a grass skirt and lei for Grayce. There are 10 kids in the family altogether including mine, the oldest being 22 this year and the youngest, little Libbie who is 2 next week - look out for the card lol! so they will have loads of fun together which is so nice to see. Anyway enough of my babbling and onto more crafty things, I decided to have a change yesterday and as I love reading in the few spare minutes I get I made a bookmark featuring one of my favourite Gorjuss Girls. I am really pleased with it and of course it is useful too, what more could a girl want ! Anyway I am hoping to get some cards done soon for challenges, I never seem to get a chance to enter them all and also I need to make a card for little Libbie for next week too. Charisma Cardz Challenge 20 & A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge 53

Good afternoon, I hope you all had a lovely sunny bank holiday, it was glorious up here in the north west although it has gone off a bit today :( The kids are on school holidays again, another week off but I have managed to make a card, well I started it over the weekend and it has took ages as I decided to use some stiching for the first time and as I don't have a machine I have had to do it all by hand and it has took me days ! Anyway to make it worth it the card happens to cover two challenges, Charisma Cardz and A Spoon Full of Sugar, you had to use lace on both and also pearls and flowers on Charisma's. There are tons of fab DT cards on both sites so have a peek a boo.

Papertake Weekly Challenge 15

Hello three posts in one day I am doing well, lol! Grayce has been splashing about in the rain, she wanted her Peppa Pig wellies and umbrella so I wrapped her up and out she went into the garden in the rain - not quite sure if this makes me a good or bad mum ? While she was busy I made this card for the Papertake Weekly challenge, this week it is a lovely sketch by Dawny, take a peek and see all the great DT cards. New Challenge Blog and DT Call

There is a new challenge blog on the way and it is called The Next Level. It all starts on 1st June and they are offering some great blog candy. The blog is being run by Dawn - All Pink Girl and Ann - Madgesty Love to Create so it should be fab. Dawn and Ann are also looking for some guest DT members so pop over there and check it out. A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge 52

Hello, hope you are all having a great Tuesday and that you have better weather than me, it is sooo grey and rainy again today, when will the sun come out and say hello - I think I might be getting a bit obsessed about the weather lol! Anyway on a brighter note it is A Spoon Full Of Sugars first birthday this week and for their challenge you need to make a celebration card, so I thought I would enter the card I made for my father in laws birthday yesterday ( sorry if you have already seen it in yesterdays post ) - he loved both his cards so that made my day as I am so unsure when I do cards for boys! Try, Try Again....

Hello, hope you all had a lovely weekend. You may have seen my last post which was a card for my father in law, it is his birthday today, well I wasn't happy with the card, I kept looking at it and it just wasn't right so I have had another go at it and come up with the card below. I have also done a card for him from the kids too, I did decorate the inside of that one too but forgot to take the photo before I let the kids loose on it ... lol! Hope to be back soon with some challenge cards.

Cupcake Challenge 39

Hello and Happy Saturday, hope you are having a lovely day, it has been very wet up here in the North West today :( I was hoping to get the garden cut but never mind! It is my father in laws birthday on Monday and I have made a card for him today from myself and my hubbie, I still need to do one from the kids, but I thought it would be perfect for the Cupcake challenge this week as it is cards for men and boys ! I have to admit I do not like making cards for boys what so ever and usually try to avoid it but I am getting a bit better although to be honest I am never totally happy with the finished article, I like my flowers and sparkle - bit of a magpie at heart, lol! Well I hope to be back tomorrow with another 'boy' card .. until then have a great weekend!

Colour Create Challenge 15 & Charisma Cardz Challenge 18

Hello, hope you are having a lovely day, the weather is gorgeous up here today although a little breezy, it is meant to rain tomorrow :( Ben is back at school and loving it and I have managed to make a little card today which covers two challenges, Colour Create and Charisma Cardz. Colour Create this week is to use the colours green and blue, a great combo and I decided that I needed to have a change from my beloved Promarkers and used pencils instead. I had a bit of disaster with my water colour pencils, I have had them ages and I think they must have been dropped as none of them would sharpen so I had to use Grayce's colouring pencils ... and I am pleased with the result .. shhhh! she doesn't know I've used them :) I am going to treat myself to some Polychromos later in the month but till then .. Charisma Cardz challenge was a lovely sketch by Vee and definitely one to add to my book - there are some great DT cards on each blog, worth a peek me thinks !

Colour Create Challenge 14 & Friday Sketchers 51

Hello, hope you are having a lovely weekend. We have had a lovely day, we went and watched our nephew play in a football final, the kids got lots of fresh air and got to play with their cousins so that was good and now they are fast asleep in bed fingers crossed for the night lol! This afternoon I finally managed to get my card done for the Colour Create challenge, although it is very last minute as the challenge changes tomorrow. The challenge this week was to use the colours chocolate, cream and red and I combined it with the Friday Sketchers challenge as this was such as gorgeous sketch by Carole. Both challenges have got fab DT cards so pop over and have a peek!

A couple of new challenge blogs and some news ...

Hello and a Happy Wednesday. My day has been quite manic, Ben is still off school because of his chicken pox, I have never seen so many spots on one person in my life before, bless him but hopefully he will be back on Monday as he is soooooo fed up it is untrue and he has gone wild and that in turn makes him quite a handful. I was expecting a parcel of party goodies to arrive today and it has still not arrived - it is Ben's 5th birthday tomorrow and I have ordered loads of Mickey Mouse party plates etc including a cake topper from ebay and it has not come .... panic has set in now! Ben loves Mickey Mouse with a passion and is expecting a Mickey Mouse party - fingers crossed for it all arriving tomorrow. Anyway back to more crafty things, there are 2 new challenge blogs coming soon and they are both after DT members - yipee! - so if you fancy applying have a look at the blogs, they both sound great - allsorts challenges and Stampin for the weekend, I've applied for both so fingers crossed.

Now for my news and I am so excited about it. Yesterday Charisma Cardz asked if I would be a guest DT for them in October for a couple of weeks and of course I said yes ! I cannot wait for October now - talk about wishing the year away and getting started, it is a dream come true and hopefully I might make it to a full time DT one day soon.

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge 1

Hello ! I have finally got my hands on a Gorjuss girl stamp, something I have wanted for ages but every time I looked online they were sold out, and I love her ... in fact I couldn't wait to use her so I have done this card for Sunday Sketch and Stamp's first challenge. This week there is a great sketch by Maggie Bob and I am really pleased with how my card has turned out, it was a lovely sketch to use and one I will definitely use again.
