Hello! I know many of you will be in shock at 2 posts in one week, but I had time to make a card today and thought why not, it has been a long time since a made a card just because I wanted to. I have used this adorable dog image which was free with Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and the papers are from Basic Grey. I don't use purple colours normally but I loved these papers and I am really pleased with the result. Hope you like it too and thanks for visiting me today.

Crafty Catz Challenge #116

Hello! I am a little bit late with this post as we have had a busy weekend, out and about and then at my mum in law's for a lovely dinner on Saturday and then we were out again yesterday, went to B&Q for a look around - why it has become a favourite shop now I am older goodness knows but it is - does anyone else love it or have I lost the plot completely ?? anyway got some new curtains for my front room which I am so pleased with so that was good. Well there was a new challenge on Friday at Crafty Catz and this week's theme is 'Buttons and Bows' and we are sponsored this week by Pink Cat Studio whose digi images are amazing and we were all lucky enough to be able to choose one to use on the DT and I went for Rex and Bronty Party. Happy New Year ! Crafty Catz Challenge #115

Happy New Year everyone. Sorry it is very late, I hope everyone is having a good year so far and that Santa brought you lots of crafty bits and bobs. I was a terrible blogger last year and my new year resolution was to be a better one this year so hopefully this will be the first of lots of cards this year. We have a new challenge started today over at Crafty Catz and the theme as set by the lovely Auntie Sue is to use 'something new'. Well to get me back in the card making mood I had to have a little shop at The Glitter Pot and as I have always admired the Hero Arts stamps but never been brave enough to try them as they are not my usual style thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give them a go. I love this stamp, it is called Newspaper Tulip and I think you could use it for many different occasions and I loved using it too, I am going to be buying some more soon and maybe a few different coloured ink pads too. I hope you like my card, it is different to what I normally do, my hubbie wasn't convinced he said it was too plain but I am open to any comments good or bad.
Lastly I have a photo to share with you all of myself and my beautiful little girl Grayce. This was taken just before Christmas and I love it. I never have photos taken but I have been on Weight Watchers for 12 months now and I am proud to say have lost 4 stone and only have 8 pounds to go :) and now I finally feel happy enough for photos so this is a big moment for me.

Hello! Hope you are all having a great weekend ! I am busy this weekend as we are having a kids halloween party tomorrow, only 6 kids including mine but still I must be mad lol! Also Grayce is 6 on Wednesday and she is having a bowling party after school with 12 of her friends so that should be fun but mad all at the same time. I have a card for you today and this is for the Halloween challenge we have going at the moment over at Crafty Catz, the fabulous image is from our sponsor The Paper Shelter and I had so much fun colouring this in. Crafty Catz Challenge 98 Monochrome DT

Hello! Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend and saw a little bit of sun, it was lovely here yesterday but is dull again today, it's not looking good for the rest of summer is it ? I took the kids to the park yesterday and there was a tree already turning to it's autumn colours and a few leaves on the floor and I have had the heating on occasionally too - not done that in August for a long time. Anyway enough with the moaning and onto the new challenge at Crafty Catz. This week Dianne has chosen the theme of 'Monochrome', which is a card featuring shades of one colour so I just had to use pink, and the image is from our fab sponsor - The Stamping Boutique. I love this image, my favourite place in the whole world is Costa Coffee, my husband says it's my house of worship lol! so this image with the lattes on was a must for me. Crafty Catz Challenge #97 - Metal & Lace DT

Morning everyone, hope you are all well and looking forward to the bank holiday weekend if you are in the UK. I have finally managed to make a card this week, it has been ages since I have done one for my blog as I have been working on a big Christmas magazine commission and with the kids at home my crafting time is very limited. This week's card is for the challenge over at Crafty Catz, Carol has chosen the theme of 'Metal and Lace' this week and I really enjoyed making this card. The image is one I have had for a while from Lili of the Valley but hadn't inked up and I coloured her with Promarkers and tried to add a bit of highlight with my pencils, I have a set of Polychromos but have never really used them as I need something to blend with and to be honest they scare me lol! but one day I will be brave and use them properly. I love this colour combo, the papers are some I just got from Quixotic cards, they are Memory Box Brioche and I love them and know I will be ordering more soon. I have got lots of digi papers I am desperate to use but my printer is very naughty at the moment and needs replacing, it has for months it I am honest so as soon as I get one I will be trying out those papers. Hello, hope you are all well and enjoying the weather, sunny again, it's got to rain at some point hasn't it but for now I'm not complaining. I have another card for you today, I made this one yesterday for my mum in law and thought I would share it. I have used a Teddy Bea image, I love these images and they are a delight to colour and are all so sweet. I have finished it off with lots of yummy flowers and the inside was decorated too.

Hello! Hope everyone has had a lovely Friday, the weather has been great again today and is looking good for the weekend so all is well. Today saw the start of another new challenge at Crafty Catz and this week it was my turn to choose the theme so I have gone for ' Christmas '. I am always last minute with my Christmas cards so I thought this would be the perfect chance to get a head start and get in the mood, although I have to admit it was very strange making this card when it was glorious sunshine outside and the kids were running around the garden chasing bubbles and eating ice-cream lol! Crafty Catz Challenge #92 - No Pink or Blue - DT

Good morning, hope you are all having a good weekend, it is actually sunny here today so fingers crossed things are looking up weather wise, the school hols started this week and I could do with Mr Sunshine showing his face. This week's challenge over at Crafty Catz has been set by the lovely Aunty Sue and she wants to see cards with no blue or pink on. Now I looked at this challenge when she first set it and thought what on earth would I do and when I came to start my card all my pink papers and promarkers were calling to me but I was strong and resisted and I am so glad with the outcome so much so I am going to buy some papers that aren't pink for once lol! The image I have used was kindly provided by our sponsor The Stamping Boutique and I adore it, check out the other girls cards for more sponsor images they are all gorgeous. Well I hope to visit you this week, trying to turn over a new leaf and become a better blogger but with the kids at home anything could happen. Crafty Catz Challenge #90 - Vintage - DT

Hello, hope you are all well and thank you for visiting me today. I have finally managed to find time to make a card, I am still being a terrible blogger at the moment but things are busy with the kids and end of term, they finish a week today for 7 weeks, deep breaths needed at that thought and with meetings and assemblys and one thing and another I seem to spend more time at the school than at home. Anyway my card is for the current challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week Dianne has chosen the theme of ' Vintage'. I love this look and have distressed the edges of the papers with some distressing ink and used one of the new images from Lili of the Valley, I love them and have a couple more I need to ink up and use. I hope you like my card and can join us this week and I will try and visit you all very soon. Ben starts football tonight, he is very excited, Manchester United have started a Down's Syndrome team for 6-16 year olds so it should be a fun evening and it will be nice to see Ben interact with other children like himself, I will let you all know how he went on very soon.

Teddy Bea

Hello! Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine, it is a lovely evening here tonight but it has been a very indifferent week so I am enjoying it while it lasts. It has been a while since I last posted and this is mainly due to school hols and me just having a break. Last weekend my little craft room under the stairs had a small makeover as it had become a bit of a dumping ground so my lovely hubbie located me the most gorgeous little shabby chic writing desk on ebay and it has made the world of difference as I am now organised - just need a few new boxes and I have an actual desk to sit at, I will post piccies on here soon as I still need to touch up the paint on the walls and I have seen some wall art stickers I want to add too. Anyway I managed to sit down the other day and make a card, I have used another Teddy Bea image, I love them so much and I have used lilac colours for a change, I never use lilac and must admit it was hard at first but will be using it more as it is such a pretty colour. I hope you like my card and if you are interested it will be for sale on ebay later tonight.

Crafty Catz Challenge #83 - Anything Goes - DT

Morning everyone, hope your weekend is going well so far. Yesterday was a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and Janette set the theme of 'anything goes' this week, so a nice easy one. I have used a Teddy Bea image from the Teddy Bo range of digital stamps, I am loving these at the moment and they are such fun to colour. The papers are digital too and are from Nitwit, been having loads of trouble with my printer recently and a few weeks ago it worked for one day only, bless it! so I printed off all my digi papers so I could use them, glad I did as the daft printer hasn't done much since. I was meaning to get more cards done for you this week but I have been decorating instead, finishing off bits I had started ages ago, and next week I am starting on Ben's room, it is in a real need of a coat or two of fresh paint and he loves the Gruffolo so I am using that as my theme, I had seen some bedding in Next I loved ages ago and now I actually want to buy it it is not available, always the case isn't it but never mind I will get there in the end. lol! Hello, hope you are well, where has the sun gone? It has totally disappeared here this week and it is quite cool today too :( I haven't been around for a while, had a break from cards last week and it was also Ben's 7th birthday last Saturday, he was 7 on the 7th lol! and we had a party for him at the local ten pin bowling place and he had the best time, it was lovely to see him with his friends and also to see how his friends are around him and they all love him and are so great with him it was very touching and a great day. Yesterday I actually made a card for no reason other than I wanted to and I loved it, I have been wanting to do this for ages now and plan on making many more 'just because' cards in the next few weeks. The image I have used is one from Teddy Bo, I have had my eye on these for ages but was very nervous about the colouring of the bear but I think she turned out ok in the end and will be popping back to the Teddy Bo shop for me of these beauties, her name is Teddy Bea and she is soooo cute with her little wand. Crafty Catz Challenge #80 - Congratulations - DT

Hello! I hope you have all had a lovely Easter and bank holiday, the weather has been so nice here in the North West and it has been great as the kids have spent loads of time in the garden on their trampoline and in their play house and the garden is looking lovely so early on in the year too, just hope this isn't summer! Anyway we had a new challenge begin over at Crafty Catz yesterday and the theme this week is 'Congratulations'. I have made a wedding anniversary card as it was my sister-in-laws anniversay on Thursday so this challenge arrived at the perfect time for me. The image is Lili of the Valley and has been coloured with Promarkers and I have added lots of gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts which I love, they are all so yummy and they have such choice, I could get really carried away if I let myself and spend a small fortune lol! I am also having a break from my DT position over at Totally Gorjuss until September, Net has been very kind in letting me do this as I need to finish decorating the house, parts are done, parts are half done and it needs sorting now before the kids are off for the summer and I also want to see if having less DT commitments brings my Mojo back as I have not been in a card making mood for a while now and I would like to just make some cards for no reason and see what happens. Totally Gorjuss Challenge 76 - No Patterned Papers - DT

Good morning and what a lovely one it is, hope the sun is out where ever you are. Today is a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week's challenge is to not use, yes not use patterned papers ... eek.. I must admit panic set in when Net set us this challenge but I have to admit it was easy once I got my head around it and it has made realise I must use embossing foldesr more often as they create such a pretty effect. I have used one of my favourite Hanglar images for this card and added some seam binding, I love this at the moment and need to order more and the sentiment is from Magnolia. Hello! Hope you are all well and everyone who is a mum had a great day yesterday, I got some lovely cards from the kids and a few chocolates, a plant and a CD so felt very special. I am sorry I had no cards to share with you last week but I have been busy on a commission for Quick Cards and with Mother's Day too I never got the chance to make any of my DT cards. Also on top of that I got a call from school on Friday afternoon to say Grayce had fallen and I had to take her to A&E and after many hours of waiting we found she had a broken wrist poor thing. Hello! It is time for another new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week's theme is 'buttons'. I have used this gorgeous Lili of the Valley image that the wonderful Aunty Sue sent me and I loved colouring her, this card is for my niece as it is her 8th birthday in a few days and it does remind me of her, not that she is always in a huff but more how she is dressed and the fact that she can be girly but then again she isn't if you see what I mean lol! There is tons of sparkle on this card but sadly I couldn't get the camera to pick it up, I must get myself a daylight lamp and see if that helps. It is also my birthday on Tuesday, I love birthday's again now, I had a couple of years where I didn't mainly because it was on my 30th birthday back in 2005 that we were told my gorgeous baby boy had Down's Syndrome, yep it took them 9 months of pregnancy and then another 10 months of him being here to notice lol! we laugh now and look back at baby photos and think how did they not know - we didn't cause he was our first and to us perfect but hey ho it made no difference any way and never would have done but I think if we had know earlier maybe my beautiful daughter Grayce wouldn't be here - I was 6 weeks pregnant with her when we found out about Ben so it was a blessing really and my god the care I got during my pregnancy with her, second to none but I think it was all down to guillt on the hospitals part. Anyway enough of my waffle and enjoy the rest of your weekend and I look forward to visiting as many of you as I can this week.

Hello! Today is a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and Auntie Sue has chosen the lovely colour combo of 'yellow and green' this week. I loved making this card and using these colours as they remind me so much of Spring and we have had a couple of nice sunny days this last week and the crocus have popped up in the garden so maybe Spring is coming. Crafty Catz Challenge #72 - Special Birthdays - DT

Hello! Hope you are all ok and having a good weekend. Today I have my DT card for Crafty Catz, the theme this week is 'special birthdays' and yet again I have used a Lili of the Valley image. I love this one as it reminds me of my little girl Grayce, she is so girly and loves dressing up and looking in the mirror so I had a smile on my face colouring this one in, she got nail varnish and lip gloss for Christmas and I gave her a little make up bag to keep it in and it is her pride and joy, bless her! Anyway I hope you can join us again this week and this is my only card as I sadly couldn't join in this week at Totally Gorjuss as we had a plumbing emergency, the toilet in the bathroom started leaking and came through into my dining room so we have been sorting that out but it could have been alot worse so I am grateful for that.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 69 - Black +1 - DT

Today is a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week's theme is 'black plus one other colour' I have used blue. Again I have used a Lili of the Valley stamp and coloured with Promarkers. I never use black and to be honest don't really have papers in this colour but I had a old Basic Grey pad which I got to use for men's cards and it had a few sheets left in it and luckily they had black on , phew! and I have to be honest I am really pleased with the result such a change to my normal pink cards so maybe I will use black more often.
Anyway thanks for taking the time to visit me today and I will be back soon although I have a magazine commission to work on next week so no doubt that will take most of the week.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 61 Someone Special DT

Hello! Well down came the snow last night around 3 inches not a lot I know compared to what some of you have suffered but far too much for my liking. Anyway we have a new challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this is the last one of the year so you get a bit longer to join in the fun this time and the theme is 'someone special'. I have used a cute image from Pink Gem and coloured with Promarkers and I am now the very lucky owner of a Cuttlebug and even though I need to get dies I have had a little go with what I got with it and love it, I have been wanting one for ages and I can't believe it has finally happened lol! I think I will have to have a spending spree on Nesties in the New Year and get all those lovely shapes. Hello! Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas. I am sorry this post is so late but I had a bad fall last week collecting the kids from school and hurt my arm and shoulder and it is amazing how many things it stops you doing, including card making, I managed to get 2 DT cards done but sadly I never quite managed my Crafty Catz one but all the other girls cards are fab so pop over and join in the fun! This week at Totally Gorjuss we have one of Net's great sketches and I used a Mo Manning image coloured with Promarkers, I just love these little North Pole elves his friend is on my next card too. Which leads me to Secret Crafter, the challenge there this week was Christmas as chosen by myself and again I have coloured with Promarkers which you can buy from the Secret Crafter shop. I also have decided with a heavy heart to step down from the Secret Crafter DT, I have had the best time with the girls over the last few months but with one thing and another cannot give it my all at the moment and I don't like to let people down so I felt this was the right time to say enough is enough but a big thank you to the DT I will miss you all xxx

I have used Tilda again, I have used her on every card this week but I couldn't resist as there are so many great Christmas Tilda's. I have added tons of sparkle to this card with my Stickles but sadly it hasn't shown up well on the pictures, I really need to master how to take photo's which really pick up the sparkle, any tips would be greatly received. This week is a sketch challenge and we have another lovely sketch from Net to use, I loved this one as it was nice and easy to follow yet so effective. I have used another Lili of the Valley stamp, I am loving these at the moment and must get some more especially the Christmas ones. I have used Basic Grey paper again but blues this time which I don't often use for Christmas cards but I love the finished look of this card and will no doubt use blue more often. Crafty Catz Challenge #57 - Spots & Stripes

Good morning, hope you are all well. Yesterday was a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week's theme is 'Spots & Stripes' as chosen by Lindsey. As I am behind as usual on my Christmas cards I have now made the decision that every card where possible that I make now has to be a Christmas card so fingers crossed that there are lots of Christmas themes coming up or I could have problems lol! It was my beautiful little girl's [not biased at all am I ...] birthday on Tuesday and she was the big '5'. She has been soooooo excited about the whole thing for week's so I am kind of glad it has been and gone as we might all get some sleep now but she had a party at the local soft play centre with loads of her friends and got lots of lovely pressies so she is very pleased with herself, she mainly got art stuff bought her as like me she loves crafting so maybe there will be a 'By Grayce' blog one day. Anyway back to Crafty Catz and we are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish and I have used one of their fab digi images for this card, the angel was not meant to look like she had a nightshirt on but she does so apologies for that. Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 105 - Oriental DT

Hello! Hope you are all having a great weekend. I have had a busy one as it is my sister in law's 40th today and we had a surprise party for her last night, we all had a great time but the kids are soooo tired today. Yesterday was a new challenge at SCSC and this is my only DT card for this week as I have been snowed under with magazine commission work and then on Thursday morning my nanna was rushed into hospital with circulation problems, it is not looking good for one leg as it is completely blocked and she can't feel her foot properly, I just pray they can solve it for her. Anyway on to cards and this week's theme is 'Oriental' and this was chosen by Tracie. I have used an Oriental Tilda, I love these images and they are a joy to colour, I used some on my sister in law's birthday cards too. I have coloured with Promarkers which you can buy in the Secret Crafter shop along with lots of other fantastic products so pay a visit if you have a minute. Thanks for looking, your comments mean lots to me and I hope to be able to visit you all this week, I never quite made it around last week. My little boy Ben has had his first football training session tonight after school, we have been looking for something that would include special needs for ages as he loves kicking a ball about and have finally found something and he loved it but he is sooo tired bless him! so I am a very proud mummy tonight lol! Gotta Craft DT - Belles & Whistles A Merry-Go!

Good morning! Hope you have had a lovely weekend, it was very wet here, not much sun if any, autumn is really on it's way now, leaves are already dropping off the tree's, the summer really does disappear fast once you get into September. Anyway enough of my waffling and onto cards, Sandra at Gotta Craft sent me a lovely pack of goodies to play with a few weeks ago and I have come up with a few cards using the Belles and Whistles stamp that was included. This is the first Belles and Whistles stamp I have ever coloured and it was lovely to work with, it is called A Merry-Go and really reminds me of a merry go round I used to love to ride on when I was a child. The gorgeous papers are all from Cosmic Cricket and they all can be found at the Gotta Craft shop. Hope you like my cards.

Again I have made a Christmas card but I am a bit happier with this one, I love Penny Black Christmas images especially the hedgehogs and must get myself some more for this year but I am still struggling with how to embellish, I am so used to adding tons of flowers and butterflies and that isn't Christmas is it. Hello! Hope you are all well and enjoying the start of the bank holiday, I can't believe the kids are back at school on Wednesday, summer has gone by very fast and now my baby girl is starting school too it is going to be a strange few weeks with maybe a tear or two! Anyway onto challenges and today is a new one over at Secret Crafter Saturday and this week's theme is Christmas. It was very odd making a Christmas card and it took me a while to get myself in the right frame of mind but once I got going I loved it. I love Christmas and it can't come too soon for me so I think I will be making lots more Christmas cards over the next few weeks, I need to as I normally leave them all to the last minute and then it is bedlam. I have used some gorgeous papers from Memory Box on this card and coloured with my faithful Promarkers which you can buy from Secret Crafter and just added a bit of ribbon, I think it needed to stay simple with the papers. Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 94 - Hot Wheels - DT

Hello! Hope you have had a good weekend so far, we have bought an 8ft trampoline for the kids today, we finally gave in as we don't have the biggest garden ever but it is fine and doesn't take up as much room as I thought and the kids love it, so hopefully lots of fun coming up over the next few weeks on that. Anyway today is a new challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and this week's challenge has been set by the lovely Melissa and she has chosen 'hot wheels'. I have used a digi image from Digi Stamp Boutique and coloured it with Promarkers and used Basic Grey papers all of which are available at the Secret Crafter shop. Hope you like my card and I look forward to visiting you all this week.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend, I am hoping for some dry weather as we have had next to none for the last couple of weeks and the kids need to get out in the garden. Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 93 - FairyTales - DT

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. We have a new challenge over at Secret Crafter and this week the theme is FairyTales. For my card I have used a Tilda image, I love this Tilda although I am not sure of her name, I especially love her hair so different from normal. Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers and Stickles both are available at the Secret Crafter shop and some of my new Bo Bunny papers. Crafty Catz Challenge 42 - Summer Time - DT

Hello! I hope you have all had a lovely day, it has been so sunny here today such a change after virtually 2 weeks of constant rain. Today is a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and Dianne has set the theme of Summer Time, so lots of bright colours and pretty things this week. For my card I have used a Frilly Milly image from Pink Petticoat and I love her, I think I will be buying more of these images as they are soooo cute and easy to colour. I have tried to avoid my normal pink colours and I am pleased with the results of the blue and green and I think it still looks summery. Well I hope you can join us this week as we love to visit you all, I have the kids on their 6 weeks summer break at the moment so I will try my best to visit as many of you as they will allow lol!

Hello! Today is an exciting day as it is my first DT card for Secret Crafter. This week the theme has been set by Helen and she has chosen Summer Holidays and as the weather is so bad at the moment it was nice to make a cheery summer card. I have used a Mo Manning image which I love and coloured it with Promarkers which you can buy from the Secret Crafter shop and also some lovely bright Basic Grey papers again available at Secret Crafter. Hello! Well it's another new week over at Crafty Catz and this week Carol has set us a great challenge of anything but a card. This fell on the perfect week for me as I have gifts to make for Ben and Grayce's teachers at school so I made these little pockets and filled them with Quality Street chocolates .. yummy !! Hello! Hope you are all well and not too wet, we have had a lot of rain these last few days but the garden is pleased if nothing else. Yesterday was a new challenge over at Charisma Cardz and this week's theme is 'pink' so it was a perfect challenge for me as I love pink. Exciting News !

Hello! Today I have some exciting news which I should have told you last Saturday but with my phone line problems it never happened. Anyway I have been asked to join the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge DT and I am so delighted. I never thought I would be chosen in a month of Sundays as everyone on their DT designs at such a high standard but I have and my first card is this week so look out for that and don't forget to visit the Secret Crafter shop for all your favourite bits and bobs.

Hello! Well I am very late with this post as I have had no phone line since last Wednesday - the lovely BT engineer finally turned up this morning and all is well again - it is amazing how much you miss the internet when you can't access it.
